Nina'S Blues 1959-1962

Avec sa voix grave et son jeu de piano sophistiqué et funky, Nina Simone est une icône intemporelle de la musique américaine. Artiste engagée dans la lutte pour les droits civiques, elle avait une sensibilité à fleur de peau dont émanait un talent sans pareil. En effet, personne n’a su comme elle mélanger avec autant de justesse le jazz à la soul ou le classique au rhythm and blues. Olivier Julien a réalisé une intégrale de la bouillonnante première période de la pianiste, pendant laquelle elle enregistre bon nombre de ses succès dont son emblématique « My Baby just Cares for Me ».
